Planning your visit to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona is an exciting part of the football experience. My clear advice is to take public transport! (train or metro, avoid the bus )
By following the tips and directions provided, you’ll ensure a smooth journey, allowing you to focus on enjoying the match-day atmosphere the Napoli fans can generate.
For those sports travelers arriving by train, the stadium is easily accessible from Napoli Centrale (train station Garibaldi), the city’s main train station.
RAIL TRANSPORT
🔴 Railways: get off at Napoli Campi Flegrei Station.
🔴 Cumana Train : get off at Mostra Station.
🔴 Metro Line 6: get off at Mostra Station.
🔴 Metro Line 2: direction Pozzuoli - get off at Campi Flegrei Station , which is a 5 minute walk from the stadium. This is how I usually get to the stadium. The journey is largely underground and takes about 20 minutes.
After the game it can be quite chaotic leaving the stadium and trying to get back onto public transport. Most people seem to queue to buy a ticket , better to buy in advance , so be prepared to wait around or maybe go and join the locals for post-match espresso!
WALKING
If you’re staying in a hotel near the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona walking might be your best option. The area around the stadium is vibrant, with plenty of cafes and shops to explore before the match. Just be careful of all the Napoli fans on their scooters!
