๐ Getting from Naples to Sorrento: Which one to choose?
Planning your trip to the Coast? This is the most common question in our group! Here is the breakdown to help you decide. ๐
1. The "Local" Way: Circumvesuviana Train This is the commuter train. ✅ Pros: Very cheap (approx €4), runs frequently all year round. ⚠️ Cons: No air conditioning, can get very crowded, no luggage racks, not the cleanest. "Sometime" Pickpockets operate here, so keep bags in front of you!
2. The "Tourist" Way: Campania Express A special train on the same line, but newer. ✅ Pros: Air conditioning, guaranteed seats, luggage space, faster. ⚠️ Cons: Costs more (approx €15), runs less frequently, and only operates seasonally (usually April to October).
3. The "Scenic" Way: Ferry (Traghetto) Leaves from Molo Beverello in Naples. ✅ Pros: Beautiful views of Vesuvius, fresh air, relaxing. ⚠️ Cons: Most expensive option, the schedule depends on the sea conditions (if the sea is rough, they don't run).
๐ก My Tip: If you have heavy luggage and it’s summer, take the Ferry or the Campania Express. If you are on a budget and traveling light, the regular train is fine—just be street smart!
