1️⃣ HEFTY FINES: Under Italian law, both the illegal guide AND the client (that’s you!) can be fined. Imagine ruining your vacation budget on a police ticket. 📉 

2️⃣ ZERO INSURANCE: If you trip and fall at Pompeii with an illegal guide, you are likely not covered. Official guides have professional insurance. 🏥 

3️⃣ FAKE HISTORY: Illegal guides often invent stories. You travelled 5,000 miles to hear facts, not fairytales! 📖

🕵️‍♂️ HOW TO SPOT A FAKE (The Checklist):

✅ THE BADGE: This is the #1 rule. Every official guide MUST wear a visible license (Patentino). It has their photo, name, and the "Regione Campania" logo. No badge? WALK AWAY. 🏃‍♂️ 

✅ The "Too Cheap" Trap: If the price sounds too good to be true compared to official agencies, there is a reason. 

✅ Soliciting: Official guides rarely approach you aggressively on the street. They are booked in advance or work from designated kiosks.
