Is Positano on your 2024 bucket list? ๐ฎ๐น๐
It’s undoubtedly the crown jewel of the Amalfi Coast, but let’s be honest: getting there can be an adventure in itself! The roads are narrow, winding, and not for the faint of heart.
Here is my quick guide to navigating the vertical city and finding that iconic view. ๐
๐ข How to Get There (The stress-free ways):
❎The Scenic Route (Recommended): Take the ferry! Ferries run from Naples, Sorrento, and Salerno during the season (approx. April-October). Approaching Positano from the water is breathtaking and avoids road traffic.
❎The Easy Route: Hire a private transfer. It’s the most expensive option, but door-to-door service in a Mercedes van is pure luxury.
❎The Budget Route: The SITA Bus. It’s an experience! Be prepared for crowds and tight curves. Pro-tip: if coming from Sorrento, sit on the right side for the best sea views.
๐ธ The BEST Viewpoint:
You know the photo: the cascade of colorful houses tumbling down to the sea. Where is it?
Head up to Viale Pasitea. As you walk up the winding road from the center, you’ll encounter several natural balconies. The higher you go, the better the perspective. The area around Le Sirenuse hotel or just past Franco’s Bar offers that quintessential postcard shot, especially at sunset. ๐
Save this post for your future trip planning! ๐
